The book Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo was written by Obert Skye. It is about a place called Foo, where the inhabitants are all kinds of mythical creatures that are supposed to make dreams of mankind possible.
But all is not well. Evil Sabine wants to fuse reality and Foo together. If reality and Foo are combined, all of mankind would die. A girl named Winter joins a boy named Leven, and each of them has unique powers. Winter can make things frozen solid by imagining them in ice and Leven can see the future and maniuplate it. Together they work to stop Sabine.
This was one of my favorite books. I give it 5 stars out of five! Do you agree?
I’ve read this book!It is so awsome for people with a good imagination or not, but hope you read it because its very good.
I’d love to read this book, just because this other place is called “Foo”.
By the way, Evan, great site! Nice design, although its content is better. :-)
I hope you keep on writing your book talks, because you seem to be a natural copywriter for the web.
Evan: I found out about your site because your Dad wrote about it in his blog. Even though I am a grown-up this will be a useful place to find books that the kids I know will enjoy.
Good reviews, keep up the good work!
Thanks Steve! I just started it today and yet lots of people come to it.
Evan: Your dad has a much-read blog because he is such a good writer and designer. So many of us readers come in via his article there.
This idea of yours was really great, my girlfriend had an idea almost just like it (though she would only list and write about the books she love and would truly recommend).
I’ll keep track of your site, it’s looking great. But you need a review feed (atom or RSS) to make it easier. Oh, never mind – I found it. But tell your dad to put it in the meta-tags so FireFox knows it’s there!
Keep up the good work!
Hi Evan! I worked at a children’s library for a while and I’ve always wanted to read this book. Thanks for the summary and the recommendation, it’s top of my list!
Hi Evan, greetings from Belgium
I’m 29, but I’ve put this book on my ‘to read’ list, it sounds really exciting.
I have a son who’s just 1 year old, I hope he’ll like to read as much as you do when he’s ten.
Thanks for the review, Evan! I was wondering if my 13-year-old boy would like this book, and after reading your review, I’m guessing he would.
Hi Evan… I think it’s great that you’ve started a book blog. One of the best things about books is sharing what you’ve read with other people… I’m wondering, reading this review, if you might like ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’. It’s a series of books (5), that were written a long time ago, but they are full of characters with magic powers, as well as real children… they are so good, I’ve re-read them as an adult…! Anyway, happy reading and happy blogging!
Hi Evan! I think you’re better at reviewing books than some of the people who get payed for it. Keep up the good work! Maybe one day they’ll be publishing your reviews in newspapers and magazines. Or maybe someone else will be writing reviews of your books. Oh, and your Dad did a wonderful job on your site too. Thanks!
