The Thief Lord

The Thief Lord

The Thief Lord was written by Cornelia Funke. It is about orphaned kids who work as pickpockets and thugs. They live in an abandoned theater with their leader, the Thief Lord. The Thief Lord is a master of stealing and is not always truthful. What’s more, he leads a secret double life. Will the other kids found out? Will they be able to escape their life of crime? Read it and find out.

This book is good for kids in fourth grade and up. It is a very exciting book filled with suspense. I would recommend any of Cornelia Funke’s books. I also give this book 4 stars.

Evan, this book sounds similar to Oliver Twist. I think I’ll buy The Thief Lord for my friends daughter. But is it scary?

When I was 10 or 11 one of my favourite books was The Silver Chair by CS Lewis, but I’ve forgotten the story. Old people like me always forget things :)

Sorry to write two comments, but I noticed I made a mistake: I should have written “…my friend’s daughter.”

Also there is a very small mistake next to this comment box, where it reads “Please user your full name…”.

This edition has a great cover design – much better than the movie material.

Finally a book I’ve read! Now I can give it a score.

I really liked this book, it was suspenseful as you said. I also like Cornelia Funke’s books. Movie material? Is there made a movie out of this book? That I didn’t know; although I know that Inkheart has a movie coming soon.
